[ אֹ˜פֶס S 657 TWOT 147a, 147b GK 701 ] n. [ m. ] only in the du. אָפְסָיִם (not אַ׳ ; v. Baer), lit. the two extremities , i.e. either the soles of the feet (so AW Ge s; cf. Aramaic פִּיסְּתָא , ܦܰܣܬܳܐ ( pasto )), or the ankles (so ã å É , & most): only Ez 47:3 מֵי א׳ water of (i.e. reaching to) the soles (or ankles ); cf. v 4 מָתְנָיִם מֵי water reaching to the loins.

אֶ˜פֶס דַּמִּים S 658 GK 702 n.pr.loc. in Judah, c. 16 miles SW. of Jerusalem, called in 1 Ch 11:13 פַּס דַּמִּים , ( meaning unknown; Lag BN 76 on basis of MSS. of Ö would read ספר מים edge or brink ( ܣܦܳܪ ( spor )) of water; but such a pronounced Aramaism is not probable ) , only 1 S 17:1 .
