מֶלֶךְ מִצְרַיִם 2 K 17: 4, with whom Hoshea had intrigue; poss. = Šab-˒-ê , or Sib-˒-ê mentioned by Sargon ( KB ii. 54, 1. 25, 26 COT ad loc.) as a ruler (appar.) under

Pir˒u of Muṣuri; hence Schr COT l.c. proposes to read סֶוֶא , and, further identif. Šab-˒-ê = סֶוֶא with Šabaku , founder of 25th (Ethiop.) dynasty, cf. Wied Äg. Gesch. 583 f. ; very uncertain is Wkl ’s conj. of סוא = Sib-˒-ê as gneral of kg. Pir˒u of Muṣri in N Arabic ( Wkl MVG 1898, 3 ff. ).
