A Beginning Place

Besides discussing class rules, grading methods, note taking and the like, we discussed looking deeper into Tanach to understand the complex issues behind the actions of Ishai Tanach.  We started with the ideas that the stories are more complex than meets the eye.

Discussed Adoniyahu's right to be the king, based on his lineage.  Discussed the death of Amnon, Avshalom, and Kileav, leaving Adoniyahu as the next oldest son.  Will get back to this issue at later time.  With the B2 class, I dared them to find a place in Shemuel where it says that Shlomo should be the king.  They  knew about the Yedidya name, but I will explore the vagueness of that at a later date.  B1 felt that Adoniyahu was a murderer, and therfore had no rights to inherit the throne, but I think that they were confusing him with Avshalom

Distributed Sifrei Melachim, but only got the number for the B-2 class.  Must get them from B-1 as well.  Also, B-1 did not get the Yannai workbooks.  Distributed Melachim workbooks, and assigned homework to B2 to do the review page.  I told them that there would be a test tomorrow, but I may simplify it.
