חמץ ] vb.be red ( ? cf. חמץ ] vb.be ruthless ( dub. ; perhaps by-form of חמם ; perhaps error for it; identif. by most with I. חמץ , be sour , hence sharp, violent , but connexion improb. ) — only Qal Pt. act. מִכַּף מְעַוּל וְחֹומֵץ ψ 71:4 from the hand of the unjust and ruthless ( || מִיַּד רָשָׁע ).
